To conclude on the first year of deCYPher project, representatives of all 10 partners gathered in Madrid, Spain. Two days, 25th and 26th of September were tightly scheduled for working group presentations, updates and discussions. The year has clearly been productive: strain tests, model development and an open call, — catching up was necessary and exciting.
On the 26th of September the advisory board joined the meeting. Their comments, questions and feedback started helpful conversations and motivated commended consortium.
The meeting organisers, deCYPher partner CSIC, made sure to include time to network and socialise. It was much needed, since the consortium grew since the last live meeting. Participants had an opportunity to get to know new colleagues during a city tour after work. On the last day everyone was invited to explore the Botanical Garden, where the venue was located, delighting the consortium with vivid flora: a bonsai exhibition, vegetable garden, palm house and even several deCYPher-relevant plants.
